About Hometown Academy
Who We Are
Hometown Academy is a STEM-focused child care and early learning center in Quakertown, PA. We opened in 2025 with a simple idea: young children are natural scientists, engineers and problem-solvers, and the early years are the best time to nurture that curiosity.
We care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old in a warm, secure "home away from home" where every child is known, and every family is a partner.
Our Philosophy
We believe in fostering a love for learning through hands-on, play-based activities that promote creativity, social skills and emotional growth. STEM isn't taught as a separate subject. It is part of the daily rhythm, from counting blocks and testing bridges to watching seeds sprout or coding a friendly robot.
Research shows that early exposure to STEM builds problem-solving skills, boosts creativity and fosters persistence, all critical for school readiness and future success. By integrating STEM into daily play, we help children see learning as an exciting, ongoing adventure.

What are Hometown Academy's hours?
Hometown Academy is open Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
What ages do you accept?
We care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old, including infants, toddlers, preschool, Pre-K and school-age before and after care.
Where is Hometown Academy located?
We are at 1408 W Broad St, Quakertown, PA 18951. We have on-site parking, including disabled parking. Call (610) 288-0222.
What is the enrollment process?
When you are ready to enroll, we send you an account link to create a profile for your child and family. Your one-time registration fee of $100 per family secures your child's place for your chosen start date (this fee is non-refundable). We then email the required forms, which must be completed before your child's first day.
What are the class ratios?
We follow Pennsylvania DHS ratios:
- Infants (under 1 year): 1 staff per 4 children
- Young toddlers (1 to 2 years): 1 staff per 5 children
- Older toddlers (2 to 3 years): 1 staff per 6 children
- Preschool (3 to 4 years): 1 staff per 10 children
- Pre-K (4 to 5 years): 1 staff per 10 children
Do you provide meals and snacks?
Morning and afternoon snacks are provided daily, with a monthly snack calendar and alternatives for allergies or dietary restrictions. Families provide lunch, and all classrooms have refrigerators and microwaves. We are not nut-free but are very mindful of allergens.
How does security work?
Each family gets a unique door key fob, we take name-to-face attendance at every change of location, the building is monitored by cameras, and all visitors and alternate pick-ups must show ID. Every child is signed in and out.
How do you communicate with parents?
Strong communication is a core part of a successful experience. Families get regular daily updates, plus parent-teacher meetings, conferences and special events.
How do I pay, and do you accept subsidy?
Once enrolled, you can pay by ACH or credit card. Tuition is processed monthly on the 1st. We accept ELRC, child care subsidy, and do not charge anything beyond the designated copay, as others do!.
Is Hometown Academy a STEM daycare?
Yes. STEM is built into every program, from sensory exploration for babies to coding and engineering for Pre-K, and we are the only STEM-focused programs in the Quakertown area.
Is there a breastfeeding room?
Yes. We have a private on-site breastfeeding room for nursing moms.
