What curriculum does Hometown Academy use?
Hometown Academy uses its own in-house STEM curriculum called ROOTS; a play-based approach that blends science, technology, engineering and math with language sessions, sports, performing arts and themed learning to support the whole child.
We believe in fostering a love of learning through hands-on, play-based activities that promote creativity, social skills and emotional growth. Our curriculum supports cognitive, social, emotional and physical development, and an organized daily routine helps children feel secure because they know what to expect.

Language & Literacy
Communication begins at birth. Our educators enhance language learning by talking with children, asking open-ended questions and encouraging them to express themselves. Books, dialogue, art, songs, social interaction and play give children daily chances to practice conversation and share ideas.

Math & Science
An early introduction to math and science builds the foundations for school and boosts critical thinking, problem-solving and curiosity. Math is woven into daily activities with hands-on materials. Children are naturally inquisitive, so they explore answers through experiments, books, guided discussion and observation.

Social & Emotional Development
Our educators create an environment where children thrive through positive interaction and cooperative play. Children talk about feelings and build self-awareness in a space where they feel safe to explore their social world.

Fine & Gross Motor Development
Climbing structures, balls and ride-on toys build gross motor skills. Blocks, puzzles, beads and art supplies refine fine motor skills.

Learning Through Play
Play is how children learn. Structured activities teach children to follow directions and work together. Guided play builds communication and emotional awareness. Free play lets children be children: choosing how to engage with peers and their surroundings fosters creativity and imaginative thinking.

Beyond the Classroom
Culture days, social awareness classes, family and community events, and trips to places like the library and museums bring learning to life.
